It's all about playing.

You will ask : “Bisou, how can your explanation about “Work” apply to my real life? I am not like you living in a house where I can get my food when I say "Nyaaan!"...We, humans, have to spend our day doing things to survive..."

Hahaha! That is your problem...”Work”, “Survive”,... You believe in very serious words and they mask the simplicity of life. Look at what you call your work...Look well...What would I do if I were you? Imagine.

I would check everything, visit the drawers, open the files, the cabinets, smell around, scratch a bit, move some documents with my paws to see if they want to play with me.

In the garden, in your office or on a beach at Tahiti, my attitude will be the same, I generate my fun, I create games for myself. Even a dead leaf or a dead file can be animated. If I throw it in the air, bite it, slide on it, I can spend hours playing.

You do not need to change your work or to go to a special place to change your mood. The fun is already here, in your heart. Do like me, explore, play, there is no boring dead leaf as such as there is no boring job as such.

All depends on you.
There is not a thing in this world you cannot play with...

What the hell is work?

What is work?
I don’t know. I hear humans using the word very often. Patrice use it quite often :
- OK, I have to work now...
What does that mean? I have no idea. I ask myself “Do I have something like work in my life?”...I even try to repeat the sentence “OK, I have to work now...” But without any result.

When my eyes go in the direction of my foot I feel automatically attracted there and I start licking. I even forget myself, It is like if I became the licking. You often say to me . Please “Bisou stop licking like this!” because you see me really embarrassed with my long fur almost suffocating me.

When I look at the garden and the weather is fine I immediately feel my legs moving outside. A lizard appears and my eyes go there. And suddenly I feel my stomach saying something to my feet and then my body transports me at the second floor near the table where Patrice is doing what he calls “working”. For me he is just sitting and hitting regularly the keyboard of his computer. I cannot figure out how he can enjoy such a game for hours?
- “Nyaaaaaaaaaan....”
I hear a long sound coming from my mouth and I hear Patrice say : “OK Bisou”.
Then we move downstairs to the kitchen and my eyes watch Patrice taking my favorite cat food out of the fridge.
Is that what you call “Working”?

No fear of failure

I love butterflies, particularly the big ones with lots of colors. The way they fly is so exciting and because they are really big it is easier to catch them than small ones. A nice jump with paws up and that’s it. After that, what a fun for us! (If you do not interrupt the game like you so often do...)

I have caught so many of those butterflies! But you also know that I do not always succeed. Sometimes for some reasons I do not jump high enough and I fall down with empty paws. If you laugh loudly and tell mocking words I feel a bit upset in the moment, but it do not last long.

So when the next butterfly happen to pass around I am in a perfectly new mood and fully "success oriented". I could miss thousands of butterflies successively without giving up trying a new catch.

Do you know why?
Because I do it for the fun and not only for the result.

Because even not doing is doing.

There is an human conversation that make us laugh. It is when you ask “What do you do?” and the person you ask the question answers “Nothing”.
Funny isn’t it? Do you see why?

Think a bit. How can you ever “do nothing”? Isn't it impossible. Look, I am sitting in front of the garden and I do not move. I do not hold a broom, I do not cut the lawn, I do not look busy but I am not “doing nothing”, I am "watching". If you were inside me you would see how busy I am in reality with all what happens around me that you do not even notice.

This difference between “Doing” and “Not doing” causes you a lot of trouble and it is one the reason why you often feel tired and sometimes upset. You imagine that you always have to make efforts to "do" something when just "being here" could be enough. When you are not busy you feel like "you are not". Isn't it strange? How can you "not be"? For us, just sitting, watching the garden or sleeping is as important as hunting for food or for play and without a doubt we are always present whatever we do.

How to cure insomnia

When I feel sleepy, I sleep, when I don’t, I don’t sleep...
Where is the problem?
For me, nowhere...
But for humans?
I heard that in the world, the market of the sleeping pills is murch larger than the market of cat food...It’s incredible!

Why do you take drugs to sleep when you do not feel sleepy? “Not sleepy” have no meaning for cats. We are awake or we are sleeping, that’s all.

Why don’t you do like us? When we are awake we always do something because even not doing for us is doing something : watching the garden, relaxing, licking our fur, stretching, playing, exploring new spaces,...always something to do.

In the case you would decide “Bisou should sleep everyday at nine” then for sure you would need to put some drug in my food to help me sleep on time.

Trust your feeling

Do you think you could live without thinking?
Maybe not, you are so used to do it that you cannot figure out how one can survive without using thoughts....

Look at what I do in the morning when I go in the garden.I look around for some grass to clean up my body from hairballs. How do I select the right one? Look well, I do not eat at random, I do not go through trial and errors, I do not use special books or repertories and my mother didn’t teach me anything about it because she didn’t have a chance to get a garden. So how do I choose?

I feel which one is right for me. I go directly to the feeling without thinking. And do not tell me “Oh yes, it is because animals have a strong instinct...”

Will you say that it never happens to you? Don’t you feel very often “Yes this is good for me” or “No this is not for me” ? And not only about food, in all kind of occasions in your life...

You think “this work is not for me”, “this partner is not for me”, “this house is not for me”...but you then start thinking “Who knows, maybe should I think a bit more about it”, “maybe should I ask somebody else for confirmation”...

Why don’t you trust more your feeling ?

Problems do not exist.

Can you imagine that?
Having no problem!
Not even a small one.
Do you realize how peaceful it is?

Not even a second of our life is lost in problem solving.
Why? Because for us life means “action”, and action always mean “solution”...
That is simple isn’t it?

When I want some food what do I do? I come near you and ask. If you do not answer, I ask again and again until I get what I want. And if I couldn't get it from you I would look somewhere else until I get satisfaction. It is simple no? Why create a problem about it? Would that help?

Look at wandering cats, did you ever see the corpse of one of them dead from hunger? I can bet it never happens. They always find something to eat somewhere.

When we want or need something we never sit and pray God to get it, because we know that asking you or somebody else directly give us better chances. If I trust you and I trust myself I don’t have any need for problems because "problems" mean "doubts".When you allow yourself to imagine there is no answer in this whole Universe, you create a problem...

When you trust yourself, problems are useless,
action is all what you need to keep you in the flow.
